Port-of-Spain has become a gun-slinging town and if you don鈥檛 get out of the way of killers,Gocking鈥檚 murder occurred ten days after Nicole Applewhite was fatally shot when gunmen opened fire at a DVD vendor on Independence Square, on Feb 16. week before her killing, Barrath was chopped to death on St Vincent St, near the Port-of-Spain Magistrates Court on Feb 9. Two men Kernel Charles and Davon Walker are to reappear in court this morning for Barrath鈥檚 murder, but no one has been held for Applewhite鈥檚 killing.The first and last word on an incident such as this is lawlessness and until we realise that law and order are the first requirements of a developed society, then Vision 2020 remains only a vision.There needs to be increased visibility of uniformed policemen and plainclothes officers who mix into the crowds.
